They Cloned Tyrone Plot Summary

The opening scene of They Cloned Tyrone features Fontaine, a local drug dealer, carrying out his regular activities: buying a lottery ticket, caring for his mum, and occasionally chasing up those who owe him money. Suddenly, he is shot dead by a rival, only to awaken the following day to resume as if nothing had occurred.

Fontaine, having returned from the dead, goes to Slick Charles to retrieve his debt. He soon learns about his death which took place last night. Naturally, Fontaine refused to accept the news and asked Yo-Yo, who worked as a sex worker, if she had heard the shots. When she affirmed she had, the three of them begin to investigate the curious circumstances of Fontaine’s revival.

They Cloned Tyrone Ending Explained

In They Cloned Tyrone, the government is using everyday products to control the public. Products that are commonly seen such as hair relaxers at salons, fried chicken, and even wine for communion at church are being tampered with by the government. Glenn’s inhabitants are being routinely taken and tested in a clandestine laboratory.

Fontaine, Slick, the cleric from the chapel, the inebriated vagrant outside the corner store, and some other picked persons from the district are all clones. As the villainous Nixon articulates, the clones have been placed there to keep the status quo and make sure the citizens abide by the regulations of the ruling powers.

At first, Fontaine is keen on returning to his daily illicit activities and disregarding everything he uncovered. But Yo-Yo isn’t prepared to abandon it and her attempts to reach out to the mainstream media are blocked and she is detained in an underground facility.

Slick and Fontaine hatch a plan to penetrate the secret lab, liberate Yo-Yo, and eventually put an end to the government tests for good. They bring onboard Fontaine’s opponent Elliot to film our protagonist (again). Faking his death, Fontaine gains entry to the laboratory and utilizes a lab employee to unlock the secret elevators from within, enabling Slick and a large portion of the community to destroy the facility.

Why is the original Fontaine working for the government?

Old-Fontaine’s motivation to cooperate with the government was the untimely death of his sibling, which was caused by a (presumably) white police officer. The purpose of the chickens, the secret experiments, and the mind-control music was to keep African Americans overwhelmed.

However, Fontaine’s true ambition was to achieve “integration”. He desired to turn the black population into white over a number of generations. Fontaine thought of the plan as being as outrageous as the mad scientist himself, so he used a trigger phrase to make Chester (a clone of himself) shoot him, thereby putting an end to the genetic alteration program.

All the newly-released clones that were wandering around naked, disoriented, and befuddled caught the attention of the media. Fontaine met up with Yo-Yo and Slick, who had declared that they were going to “retire” from their illegal activities. The trio made plans to go to Memphis together.

Who is Tyrone After All?

At the midpoint of the movie, an extra Fontaine clone was introduced, named Tyrone. He was in a neighbourhood of Los Angeles and doing the same activities as those seen at the start of the movie. As he switched on the news, he discovered reports of the consequences of the events in the Glenn. His acquaintances noticed him and shouted out the title of the film, “They Cloned Tyrone!”
