After his amateur career, Alfredo was already enrolled in the professional sites of Arizona. During the tenure, he fought in the Light Middleweight divisions at first.

By the tenure of 2008, he had already maintained 13 victories, among which ten were just by knockout. 

Alfredo Angulo vs. Andrey Tsurkan 

On October 4, 2008, Alfredo Angulo faced Andrey Tsurkan in Pechanga Resort & Casino, Temecula, California, USA. The bout was aired on HBO Boxing After Dark. 

During the match, the two commenced right through a series of punches at a high pace.

Initially, Andrey had taken the lead; however, Alfredo closely followed, but in the end, Alfredo gained a nasty cut above his right eye.

After Andrey, Alfredo had collected a win from former NABO light Welterweight champion Cosme Rivera. In brief, he won through knockout on February 14, 2009. 

Right after it, Angulo fought against an undefeated Harry Joe Yorgey at the XL Center.

On June 8, 2013, Alfredo lost the match by knockout over Erislandy Lara in Home Depot Center, Carson, California, U.S.

Injury from Erislandy Lara

During the bout against Erislandy Lara, Alfredo gained a gruesome eye injury that ended the fight right away. As Alfredo’s face suffered a complete wreck, they expected him to have fractured his left eye’s orbital bone.

As all states it to be a clean punch from Lara, Alfredo rephrases it to be a dirty job. According to him, Lara had thumbed him twice in the eye.

Anyways, right after the match ended, they took Alfredo to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. 

However, they didn’t have any MRI or X-ray for the injury and stated that Alfredo had no fractures. Indeed, many were disappointed that no one checked out his eye for him during the match. 

“The ref (Raul Caiz. Sr.) stopped it without checking the situation or giving a count. A regular punch would not do that (damage). It’s dirty fighting by Lara, again. But I won the love and respect of nonbelievers, too.”

Following the fight with Lara, he had another two losses over Canelo Álvarez (knockout) James de la Rosa (unanimous decision). In 2015, Alfredo took two wins against Delray Raines and Hector Munoz. 

However, after the year and later on, he was followed by yet another two losses. 

Alfredo Angulo vs. Peter Quillin

On September 21, 2019, Alfredo Angulo faced Peter Quillin in the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions card. Their match was held at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California; they depicted the fight as the best match of 2019.

Likewise, during that time, Alfredo spent seven months in an Immigration and Naturalization Service detention facility in El Centro, Calif.
